Our firm, founded in 1921, is one of the longest established in Switzerland and has since then built a strong reputation, both locally and internationally.
PONCET TURRETTINI consciously chose to retain a medium size, providing its clients with first-rate service in most practice areas, whilst preserving and ensuring a close, personal client-attorney relationship.
Since 1921
The firm was founded in 1921 by Paul JACOB, Jean PONCET and Paul MAUNOIR, specializing in civil, commercial, real estate and tax law.
Three members left a particularly strong mark on the firm’s early history:
- Jean PONCET led a brilliant career, both as a lawyer and a politician, and served as a conservative member of Geneva parliament for 37 years, presiding it in 1955. Jean PONCET was elected Chairman of the Geneva Bar Association in 1959.
- Robert TURRETTINI became a partner in 1950 on his return from post-graduate studies at Harvard University (USA). Robert TURRETTINI was the driving force behind the international development of the firm at a time when many foreign companies, particularly from the USA, began to establish in Geneva. He also served as a member of Geneva parliament.
- Dominique PONCET, son of the firm’s founder, played a pivotal role in its growth. Dominique PONCET became a partner in 1959 and led an intense professional life. A brilliant litigant in court, he was also committed to teaching at Geneva University for nearly 30 years and authored several noted treatises in the fields of civil and criminal procedure law.
PONCET TURRETTINI subsequently grew and developed into what it has become today: a firm renowned beyond its borders for the quality of its services.
